Stefan Bremerin valokuvat kertovat pakolaisten tulosta Suomeen tänä syksynä. Bremer on kiertänyt kuvaamassa turvapaikanhakijoita vastaanottokeskuksissa, tavannut heitä kadulla, jalkapallokentällä, suomalaisten kotona, pellon laidassa jne.
Kuvat kertovat Suomen oloissa poikkeuksellisesta kansainvaelluksesta, joka yllätti kansalaiset ja viranomaiset täysin. Tuhannet kotimaistaan lähteneet ihmiset ovat vaeltaneet läpi Euroopan ja päätyneet Pohjan perukoille vailla kotia ja vailla elantoa.
Bremerin isoissa vedoksissa suru ja ilo, yksinäisyys ja yhdessäolo, epätoivo ja toivo näyttäytyvät runollisesti ja realistisesti. Kuvien taustalla on valokuvaajan tarve näyttää näille ihmisille, että heistä välitetään. Samalla Bremer haluaa muistuttaa meitä suomalaisia, että on meidän velvollisuutemme ottaa vastaan nämä sotaa ja julmuuksia paenneet ihmiset ja kohdella heitä hyvin.
Bremer on asettanut pakolaisille yksinkertaisen kysymyksen: Mikä on tärkein kuva jonka olet säilyttänyt matkapuhelimessasi. Yleensä miehet kaivavat puhelimen selaimesta esiin kuvan äidistä, isästä, sisaruksista mutta myös kuvia miten he selvisivät merimatkasta uuteen tuntemattomaan maahan.
Näyttelyssä on esillä myös muutamia toimittaja ja kirjailija Kimmo Oksasen tähän liittyviä runoja. Oksanen on työssään ja yksityiselämässään haastatellut ja kohdannut lähinnä Irakista ja Syyriasta tulleita pakolaisia ja kirjoittanut heistä ja tuntemuksistaan runot. Ihmiset ovat osin samoja kuin Bremerin valokuvissa. Runot ovat esillä näyttelyssä suomeksi ja arabiaksi.

The pictures by Stefan Bremer are telling on how the middle-east refugees came to Finland this autum. Bremer has travelled around in South Finland and has photographed the refugees in their refugee centers, in the streets, on the football fields. in finnish homes and by the countryside.
The pictures are telling about the exeptional mass migration that took both citizens as well as the society by surprise. Thousands of people have fled from their homeland and travelled through Europe before finally coming to the remote Finland without home or property.
In Bremers big pictures there is a change between sadness and joy, between lonelyness and fellowship, between hope and despair. Behind these pictures there are the photographers need to show to these people that we are truly concerned about them, Bremer wants to remind us that it is our duty as finns to greet these people who have fled from war and devastation and to treat them with respect.
Bremer asks the men to show the most important picture they have preserved on their mobile phones. Mostly its mother, father, sisters and family, but also pictures of rescue to a new country after a dangerous journey over the seas.
In the exhibition there are also poems that comment the subject by the journalist and author Kimmo Oksanen. Oksanen has in his work as a journalist for Finlands biggest daily paper Helsingin Sanomat as well as on his freetime met and interviewed refugees mostly from Syria and Iraq. He has written new poems of their expriences as refugees. Some of the people in the poems are the same as in Stefan Bremers pictures. The poems are presented in finnish and arabic in the exhibition.
